The Chisholm Iron Trail Campground is owned & operated by the City of Chisholm. Located right in Chisholm, below the water tower, on the service road of Hwy 73.

We offer full hookup and 5 tent sites.  Sites vary between 30/50 amp electric (see specific site information on Camplife.com), air conditioners, propane heaters, and pets allowed. Clean restrooms, firewood, hot showers, dump station, laundry facilities, picnic tables, and high-speed internet is available at most sites through Mediacom. WiFi is available to all sites. 

Chisholm Iron Trail Campground is open YEAR-ROUND, allowing all camping types and most sizes. Rates vary depending on size and services at the site. Some restrictions apply to winter camping. Tent camping in winter is limited to daily rate. Winter camper storage is available November 1 through April 30 in sites 15-28 on the upper level. Seasonal sites (41-54) available on the lower level. Recreational Amenities: Redhead MTB Park, local tours, Museum of Mining, Minnesota Discovery Center, a vibrant downtown with many local shops and restaurants, lakewalk around Longyear Lake, ATV trails, disk golf course, many parks including a skate park, bocce ball court, tennis/volleyball/basketball courts, Field of Dreams Baseball Field in honor of Doc "Moonlight" Graham, baseball/softball/football fields, curling club, hockey/skating facility, fishing docks and boat landing on Longyear Lake, Iron Range Veterans Memorial... Many lakes, woods, snowmobile trails, cross country skiing, hiking trails, and golf courses are all less or within a half hour drive in the area.

Overflow large group camping at the Redhead MTB Park Trailhead available during Redhead event weekends, contact (218) 421-7158 to inquire about availability. Reservation payments are due at time of reservation for Redhead events and are non-refundable.

Seasoned Firewood is available at the Campground for guests, residences of Chisholm and others. $6 per bundle, please put cash or check in the drop box.
 
 Campground Guidelines
  • Camp registration is made on Camp Life https://www.camplife.com/1050
  • Check in time is 12:00 noon, check out time is 11:00AM
  • Quiet time is 10:00PM to 6:00AM
  • Cancellation policy is $15 fee 7 or more days in advance, $25 fee for 7-1 days in advance, 1 day or less 50% fee of full reservation
  • Cancellation policy applies to early check-out from existing reservations, 50% of remainder of stay will be refunded 
  • Firewood is available at the office for $6.00 a bundle, place cash in office drop box
  • Sewer Dump Station free with reservation, $5.00 for others, cash in office drop box
  • Loud parties and excessive alcohol consumption is not permitted
  • Campers/RVs are subject to the “10 year rule”
  • Guests must maintain sites neat and orderly, please use the trash cans provided
  • Exterior structures will not be allowed, such as, porches, gazebos, sheds, freezers and any other material that is considered disorderly without written approval by City of Chisholm
  • Pets are welcome in the campground. Pets must be on a leash six feet or shorter at all times and be cleaned up after. If pets are not cleaned up after, a $50.00 fee is charged. Aggressive or nuisance pets will not be allowed in the campground
  • Fireworks are not permitted in the campground
  • Campfires are permitted in fire rings only
  • Speed limit in campground is 5 mph
  • No nuisance, disorderly, or aggressive behavior will be allowed
  • ATV and other motorized vehicles are allowed in the campground, to and from site.  NO RIDING AROUND CAMPGROUND
  • No non-standard electric heaters allowed. Primary heating source (propane heaters) must be utilized
  • Cooling units utilizing electricity are only allowed in insulated campers
  • Visitors outside of registered camper(s) as agreed upon during registration are not allowed to stay overnight
  • Guests cannot rent their sites to a second party without approval by campground management
  • Chisholm Iron Trail Campground assumes no responsibility for injury, accident, damage, or loss of personal property
  • Chisholm Iron Trail Campground assumes no responsibility and has authority to dispose of items left behind in sites
